The Port Moody Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, September 30 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day are observed each year to honour the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities.
The Port Moody Public Library will continue to amplify Indigenous voices in the hope that listening to and reading the works of Indigenous authors can help strengthen the path to reconciliation and pave the way for healing. We commit to reviewing and updating our collections to ensure that they include and are reflective of the Indigenous Peoples of Canada.
